AS GCSE pupils received their grades today after a dramatic week of government U-turns, Burgess Hill Girls Head Liz Laybourn paid tribute to their mental resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In what has been an unprecedented year for young people across the country, Burgess Hill Girls is celebrating the achievements of its pupils with the news that 61% of grades awarded were at A*-A and 82% at A*B.
Friends Jessica Farrant, a student at Burgess Hill Girls, and Emily Shapton, a student at Uplands Community College have raised over £1,300 for Choose Love / Help Refugees by running a mile every hour for 24 hours.
Seven year old Burgess Hill Girls pupil Amber Mason has created a British Sign Language COVID-19 news broadcast. Both Amber’s parents are deaf, so she has been signing since she was six months old, and British Sign Language (BSL) is her first and home language.
