A Churcherian Invasion at Butser Ancient Farm

Children from Year 3 at Churcher’s College Junior School transformed into two tribes – the Celts and the Romans – when they visited Butser Ancient Farm last week as part of their History Topic on Invaders and Settlers.

The children sat on animal skins in the Great Round House and learnt about the way people lived in the past. They also made Celtic jewelry and learnt about the construction of both Roman and Celtic buildings.

The glorious weather of an early October day helped the children have a productive day and make the most of the variety of activities on offer.

Mrs. Moore, class teacher said: “The children were absorbed with this period of History and it helped to bring their understanding of this time alive.”
