An impressive night at DLD College London Summer Ball
Posted on 15th May 2018 in School NewsDLD College London students had an exceptional night at their seventh annual Summer Ball, held at the prestigious Underglobe on the bank of the River Thames.
Students from the Westminster Bridge-based college descended down the grand sweeping staircase into the venue, situated beneath the world renowned Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre at the heart of British literature, to mark their academic achievements to date.
The impeccably dressed students attending the black tie themed event were greeted with a drinks reception, before indulging in a delicious two-course meal and sweet treats from a colourful ‘candy table’. They danced the night away to Function Band, a soul and pop group who put on an exciting performance of fresh new music and floor filling classics.
For further entertainment, there was a vintage pop-up photographic studio for everyone to enjoy throughout the evening. This was beautifully dressed with a picket fence and ivy all around, equipped with fun props and had unlimited photographs for the students to take home with them as mementos of the evening. Students also posed for additional snapshots in front of the 4ft light up letters spelling ‘DLD’.
In keeping with tradition, a Prom King and Queen were crowned and a valedictorian was announced. Boarding students Adam Moyler and Ana Cybulkina were regally appointed whilst Betty Liang was honoured to be named DLD College Valedictorian 2018.
Principal, Irfan Latif, commented: “The Summer Ball was an outstanding event held at the world famous venue which is steeped in history and tradition. Our students have worked exceptionally hard throughout the year and their dedication to develop themselves is evident. It is important that we offer them the opportunity to come together to celebrate and reflect on this, before the final push towards their all-important exams this summer. The students were well behaved, respectful and excellent ambassadors for the College.”
