Ashford School would like to congratulate our Year 13 students who have shown tremendous maturity and resilience in this unprecedented year. Despite finishing School in March, their hard work earlier on in their 6th form time has paid off and we are proud to be seeing three quarters of our students gain their first choice universities, including Amberley who will be reading Computer Science at Oxford University, Solove who will be heading to Sheffield to read Architecture, Mary who achieved 3 A*s and an A and will be going to Cambridge to read Economics.
Congratulations must also go to Lucas who achieved 3 A*s and will be going to Royal Holloway to read Computer Science and Lauren who achieved 4 As and will be studying Medicine at UEL. Well done Brian who has gained a place at Bristol University to read Aerospace Engineering, to Aoife who will be reading Neuroscience at UCL and Mikel who will be studying Biochemistry, also at UCL.
In addition to these A Level results, we are pleased to share that all our students who undertook an Extended Project Qualification were awarded an A or A*.
In summary, following the reissuing of official grades for A Levels, we can announce that we achieved 50% A*/A, 88% A*/C and a 100% pass rate. Congratulations to all our students!
We are still working with some of our students to secure their University places, but we know that we have over 3/4 gaining successful entry into their first choice University and over 1/4 of our students going to a top 10 UK University.
Director of 6th Form, Mrs Claire Miller would like to remind all students of her speech at the end of the year; "You are like caterpillars and you are now free to fly into the world you have so longed to join. For you that world has changed, but you are prepared and you now must move on. Your 6th Form experience has been as dynamic and unique as ever. While cut short by 3 months, you still have so much to take away with you; friendships, memories of School trips, house tournaments, teachers, subjects and of course, confidence that we will always support you. This year group has been exceptional and you have enriched each others lives. Don't ever forget that".
