October is Black History Month and ​Brentwood School students are making sure the important contributions made by historical black figures are not forgotten with a daily fact file.

A King's Ely Sixth Form student has been announced as the joint winner of this year’s Peterhouse Vellacott History Essay Prize.

On Saturday 1st February 2020, the cast of Churcher's College Senior Play "The Diary of Anne Frank" travelled to Amsterdam to visit the house in which the Frank family hid during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, having moved there from Germany in 1933.

Churcher’s College was honoured to welcome Mala Tribich MBE, to share the testimony of a survivor, a child at the time, almost 75 years after Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was liberated. Mala is now among the last people able to give a first-person account of what she and others suffered, and what was done to them.

On Thursday 30th January, students from Holme Grange School listened to testimony from Holocaust survivor, Hana Kleiner, as part of a visit organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET).

On Friday 29th November, the senior pupils of Northbourne Park School visited Ypres in Belgium for the Christmas Truce tour.
