On Friday 3 May, Churcher's College Junior School & Nursery were delighted to welcome Graham Bowring from Saint Francis Animal Care – Hedgehog Rescue Centre.
This is a small centre near Petworth, that cares for sick and injured hedgehogs with the aim of returning them to the wild. As part of his voluntary work he regularly visits schools not only to talk about these popular night creatures, but also give the children the unique opportunity to meet a real hedgehog.
With their population in serious decline, this may be one of the few chances that the children get to observe a hedgehog. In preparation for this exciting visit, Nursery pupils also baked hedgehog rolls!
