Churcher’s College Junior School Year 6 Citizenship trip
Posted on 4th Feb 2019 in School News, School TripsChurcher’s College Year 6 visited London as part of their Citizenship curriculum. The children visited the Houses of Parliament and were treated to a detailed tour of the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
They were fascinated to see where Lords and MPs sit and discuss the key decisions of the day . We saw where and how MPs voted and the impact of the monarchy on the running of parliament.
Following Westminster Palace, Y6 embarked on a river cruise to The Tower of London. We had lunch on the boat and viewed some of the amazing buildings that make up central London - Shakespeare's Globe, St. Paul's, Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern, the Shard and of course The Tower of London. Our highlights at the Tower of London were the Crown and the torture chambers!
