Last week at Churcher’s College in Petersfield, a cheque for £5000 raised by the runners of the Butser Hill Race was presented to FitzRoy, the national charity which transforms the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism. Churcher’s College is the title sponsor of the Butser Hill Challenge.

The cheque was presented by Churcher’s College pupils; Libby Daunter (finished 1st in the U13 race) and Ross Calvert (U12 finished 20th and raised money for the charity) to Jim Apted, Community and Fundraising Co-Ordinator for Fitzroy.

Also present to celebrate the occasion were Alan Shons, Butser Race Director, Simon Williams, Churcher’s College Headmaster, Emma Chambers, Head of Athletics and Cross Country at Churcher’s College, and Linda Wilson, partner at race sponsor, MacDonald Oates LLP Solicitors.

Jim Apted from FitzRoy said: “Thank you to all who supported us via the Butser challenge – the money raised will certainly help us to make a difference to the lives of local people with learning disabilities and autism."
