Colchester High School graduates to become Microsoft Showcase School
Posted on 31st Jan 2022 in School News, TechnologyColchester High School are delighted to announce that they are now officially a Microsoft Showcase School, joining an elite group of only 53 schools in the UK!
This is a fantastic achievement by the school community and testimony to the hard work of both staff and pupils in embracing the EdTech Revolution and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Ms Gracie-Langrick, Headteacher, proudly explains: “Following the huge investment and roll out of the 1-1 devices by Cognita for all pupils from Year 3 to 11 in October 2020, staff and pupils alike have embraced new technology in education to equip our pupils with the digital and critical thinking skills that are highly sought after in the 21st Century workplace. We were especially delighted that Microsoft recognised how the school’s use of technology has given pupils a ‘voice and choice’ in their own learning - facilitating pupil autonomy, learner ownership and agency. Reinforcing our belief that learning can take place ‘Anytime, Anywhere, Anyplace’, this accreditation will help to propel our school towards fulfilling its aspiration to become a STEAM and Microsoft Centre of Excellence and Innovation.”
