Cranleigh's A-Level results
Posted on 18th Aug 2022 in School News, A levels, ExamsCranleigh is pleased to report that in the first year of external examinations since 2019, A-Level results are consistently excellent, with 25 per cent achieving the top A* grade, 55 per cent of grades at A*-A, 85 per cent of grades at A*-B and an overall pass rate of almost 100 per cent.
This cohort did not sit GCSE examinations, and were impacted throughout their time at Sixth Form by ongoing issues surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. They performed extremely well, with just over half of the of students gaining A*/A in two or more subjects, and an outstanding 70 per cent achieving all A*-B.
Mr David Boggitt, Cranleigh’s Deputy Head Academic, said: “This is an outstanding group of young people, who have faced significant challenges in the last few years and we have been continually impressed with their response.
"Our staff has worked equally hard to support the students through the curriculum and exams. We're delighted to see everyone's efforts pay off and we look forward to hearing about our students' continued success at university and beyond.”
Earlier in the year Cranleigh announced another superb set of Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) results for the same year group, equalling last year’s record results. Most Sixth Formers at Cranleigh take an EPQ alongside studying for three A Levels. This year’s results were outstanding, with 63 per cent of pupils gaining A or A* and 83 per cent of all EPQs graded at A*-B.
The students who collected their results today are already focusing on their futures and most have had their university places confirmed.
