Dauntsey’s pupils stage Rockfest 2018
Posted on 12th Mar 2018 in School News, MusicDauntsey’s has staged its annual Rockfest concert to a sell-out audience. Nine acts from the Lower School and twelve from the Upper School took to the stage to perform a wide range of numbers, all exhibiting great talent and enthusiasm.
In the Upper School, winner of ‘Best Solo Act’, Rini, performed a stunning Sia medley including Cheap Thrills and Titanium. The winning ensemble, Apollo-7, impressed the crowd with their cover of Live and Let Die. Amazing pyrotechnics enhanced their performance, making their act appear highly professional.
In the Lower School, The Painkillers won with their performance of I Love Rock and Roll. Appropriately dressed for the occasion, sunglasses at the ready, they had the entire audience cheering them on.
Kester Sims, Head of Music Technology, Dauntsey’s said: “Rockfest goes from strength to strength and this year the audience was treated to an exciting evening of great rock talent, supported by our own expert lighting and sound team of pupils. My thanks go to the staff, pupils and parents who support the event so enthusiastically. This is what gives Rockfest such an encouraging and exciting atmosphere.”
