Family favourite musical Seussical is being staged at King’s Ely in March.

Following King’s Company’s sell-out production of CATS last year, pupils in Years 5 to 8 at King’s Ely Junior are making their eagerly-anticipated return with the magical musical extravaganza that is Seussical.

The all singing, all dancing show is being staged at King’s Ely’s Hayward Theatre on Friday, March 9th and Saturday, March 10th, and tickets are selling fast.

Director of Drama and Theatre at King’s Ely, Nick Huntington, said: “Tony Winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all of our favourite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many thinks.

"Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. The colourful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Seussical truly is fun for the whole family, but please do book your tickets early to avoid disappointment!”

The production is being directed by Mr Huntington with musical direction by Neil Porter-Thaw and choreography by Natasha Hobbs. The show is at 7pm each evening, with a 2.30pm matinee performance on the Saturday.

Tickets are £5 each. For tickets, please call the King’s Ely Box Office on (01353) 653931 or visit www.kingsely.org/boxoffice.
