Felsted girls make a difference for St Clare Hospice
Posted on 21st Jan 2019 in School News, FundraisingFelsted School girls have raised £5277 for the St Clare Hospice to help make a difference to hundreds of families in the United Kingdom.
The girls in Follyfield boarding house chose St Clare Hospice as their house charity and have been fundraising for them for the past two years. This included putting on a show for friends and family, where many of the girls played instruments and sang, as well as baking cakes, selling food and drinks at the bar and organising a game of bingo.
The hospice helps people to live as actively as possible from the point at which their illness is diagnosed as incurable until the end of their lives, and carries on caring for families and friends beyond the death of their loved one. A cheque was presented to Director of the Hospice Cheryl Armitage, who told the girls that donations are invaluable to their charity and this amount would make a huge difference to the lives of so many people.
Follyfield Housemistress Mrs Sonia Wilson comments, ‘I am so proud of the girls who have all worked so hard fundraising for St Clare Hospice and helped to make a difference.’
