Felsted School are celebrating their strength in rugby after a Saracens contract was recently secured by their 1st XV captain.
Oliver Stonham, aged 18 from Dunmow, has been offered a full-time Academy contract with Saracens Senior Squad, commencing in July. Since joining Saracens Academy at the beginning of the 2018 season, Ollie has represented both the U18 Academy team and the 2nd team senior squad, impressing coaching staff. He has been named one of the thirty five Academy players to watch for the future in an article by RugbyPass.com. Ollie was also recently selected for the England U18 Rugby Training Squad, giving him the opportunity to attend England training camps leading up to the U18s Six Nations.
Ollie’s Felsted 1st XV teammate Samuel Bryan, age 17 from Great Waltham, has been selected for the South of England U17 Squad and will attend a training camp with players from the North where an England U17 squad will be selected for two International matches as well as a summer tour to South Africa.

Felsted Director of Rugby, Andrew Le Chevalier (ex London Wasps) comments: ‘Felsted has a number of players representing at club, county and academy level, including six at Saracens, eight at Northampton Saints and one in the National Lambs Squad. They follow in the footsteps of former Felstedians Max Malins (Saracens), Rory Hutchinson and Ehren Painter (Northampton Saints). All have played for their clubs this season in the Premiership and European Cup, and all three of them have been named in the Premiership side of the week this season with Rory Hutchinson having made the side four times.’
