Harvest festival at Priory School of Our Lady of Walsingham

The Priory School Harvest Festival Service this year was very pupil focussed: pupils read, acted and danced, all with the aim of delivering the important message that we should do all we can to care for those less fortunate than ourselves, and not just at this time of year.

In preparation for the service, each pupil wrote what they were thankful for on an ear of corn (made from paper). These were bound together by year group and presented as a sheaf of corn to Miss Shyvers, who led the church service.

Principal Mr DEJJ Lloyd commented that: “Whilst some pupils were thankful for tangible things, such as cars, which is of course fine, others were thankful for family and friends, and even their football clubs. I am grateful to Miss Shyvers, teacher of Mathematics, for conducting the service and to Mr Mann, teacher of Art, for doing the artwork and printing of the ‘corn’.”
