Over the course of the last academic year, Nursery and Pre-prep children at Highfield and Brookham Schools in Liphook raised an incredible £14,692.73 for the Arrows Group Foundation, the school’s chosen charity. Each year the school supports a different charity chosen by the children.
The Arrows Group Foundation, based in Lambeth, works with a number of children’s causes around the world, all of which are focussed on supporting disadvantaged children to have the best chance in life, primarily focusing on causes like care, education, employment readiness and mentoring.
The money raised by Highfield and Brookham has been donated by the Arrows Group Foundation to Udayan Care, one of the charities it supports, which works to empower vulnerable children, women and youth across India. The money is enough to support eight girls for the next 12 months. These girls are cared for in a compassionate family environment and provided with basic the necessities of nutritious food and shelter, as well a good education, great physical and mental health, and plenty of opportunities to grow.
The girls at the Udayan Ghar said “We cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Your donation helped us to live in a safe place called home, food to nourish us and education for us to become independent.”
James and Sam Parsons, Arrows Group Foundation Trustees from Fernhurst, said “We are so grateful to all the children and staff for their fantastic support this year! These homes provide essential care and a safe place for young girls who have faced huge challenges in their young lives.”
Sophie Baber, Headteacher at Brookham School, said, “I am immensely proud of the children who wholeheartedly embraced the challenge of raising money for this life changing charity. The children demonstrated the amazing skills they possess participating in a range of fundraising activities including cake sales, a Santa run, quiz nights and the May Fair.”
