Holme Grange School wins Artsmark Gold Award

Another great week of success at Holme Grange School. We are delighted to have been awarded the prestigious Artsmark Gold Award by the Arts Council England. This indicates the creative quality standards for schools across the country. This was a fantastic achievement and well deserved when you see all the cross-curricular opportunities.

The assessor commented, ‘The panel commends your continuing development of high-quality, authentic artistic and cultural experiences for pupils at Holme Grange School. The diversity of projects with external partners has enabled you to develop best practice which is being shared across other educational establishments.’

Then the following day the school were notified that they were finalists at the Independent School Association Awards. The school fought off stiff competition from a host of other schools to be chosen as a finalist in ‘Early Years Award for Excellence and Innovation in Provision’.

This was a tough category as many schools provide exceptional Early Years provision but Holme Grange were singled out along with a school in Grantham and one in Welwyn Garden City. The overall winner will be revealed at the prestigious awards ceremony at the ISA Conference in November, this year hosted by Paralympic gold medallist Danny Crates.

Headteacher Mrs Claire Robinson commented, ‘I’m delighted for the school and staff as this just externally recognises all the hard work I see on a daily basis. The pupils are at the heart of everything we do at Holme Grange, and from 3 years of age to 16 years a wealth of opportunities that challenge and stretch our pupils are on offer. We truly want to create awe and wonder with a passion for learning.’
