Inspection success at Priory School

Priory School of Our Lady of Walsingham has just received a clean bill of health from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

In February of this year, ISI inspectors arrived on the school’s doorstep to conduct a two-day long Regulatory Compliance Inspection. They looked at several areas of school life: the curriculum and teaching, welfare and health and safety, staff and leadership, accommodation, communication with parents, and complaints management, leaving no stone unturned.

The inspectors visited lessons, talked to pupils and staff, sent questionnaires to parents, combed through policy documentation and other paperwork, and assessed the campus and all its facilities. They judged the school to be fully compliant in all areas, and the Principal, Mr David EJJ Lloyd, stated that: "The inspection team commented on how kind, respectful and calm the school environment is, and the full inspection report can be found on our website."

Mr Lloyd thanked everyone involved in the outcome. "We are very grateful to all members of our school community for pulling together to showcase our small, friendly and supportive school, where knowledge of the individual is central to all we do."

Priory School is an all-through 4-18 school founded on Christian values, and prides itself on small class sizes, encouraging learning for learning’s sake, care for the individual, and self-awareness and reflection.

In summarising the inspection experience, Mr Lloyd stated: "I am hugely proud of the outcome of the inspection, and the strong endorsement of Priory School’s position as an independent school of choice for the Island community.

"We are holding a Junior School Open Morning on Wednesday 7 June 2023, and you are encouraged to attend and see us on a normal working day."
