King’s Ely students to showcase their designs at London’s Alexandra Palace

A level Fashion and Textiles students will be showcasing their flamboyant garment designs and accessories at the four-day event at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace from Thursday, October 11th – Sunday, October 14th.
The Knitting and Stitching Shows are the definitive events for anyone with a love of textile-based craft. The event this month is the biggest textile event in the UK, with hundreds of workshops, demonstrations, interactive features and professionally curated galleries, as well as 300 exhibitors selling specialist craft supplies.
The director of art at King’s Ely Senior, Alison Rhodes, said: ‘This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and is a valuable experience that contributes to their coursework, UCAS applications and future employment. Our students will be able to investigate new materials sourced from the show, as well as make contact with professional designers.’
King’s Ely Fashion and Textiles students achieve some of the best GCSE and A level results in the country, with many students going on to study at internationally renowned universities and colleges such as Chelsea, Ravensbourne, Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, Royal School of Needlework Hampton Court Palace, Edinburgh and Falmouth.
