Lockers Park Prep School raises a fantastic £13,382 for local charities

Lockers Park Preparatory School’s recent sponsored walk raised an amazing £13,382 for local charities Hope for Children and The Collett School. The five-mile walk around Hemel Hempstead took place earlier this year, with over 300 people in attendance including staff, pupils and parents.

Headmaster Christopher Wilson said: ‘Every year we hold a whole school sponsored walk. It is an event that everyone looks forward to. In this particular instance, raising money for local organisations really galvanised the pupils at Lockers Park. It has been the perfect way of encouraging good citizenship. We are pleased to have exceeded our initial target and raised so much for such worthy causes. Special thanks must go to the Mock family and the Dullatur Foundation which raised £10,000 via a matched charity giving initiative.’

Ed Fletcher, Head of Fundraising & Communications at Hope for Children comments: ‘In the last four years, Hope for Children has helped 161,000 children and adults realise their right to education, healthcare and a stable family environment. Thank you to Lockers Park for thinking of us: the money raised will go directly to help families across the globe create sustainable solutions.’

The donation was warmly welcomed by The Collett School Headmaster Stephen Hoult-Allen: ‘The Collett School is attended by children from all over Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties from ages 4–17. We are striving to become a flagship for special education, and our mission is to support the children to grow in confidence, giving them as much independence as possible to enable them to be part of society and contribute to the community. Lockers Park’s fantastic donation will help many of our pupils.’
