Junior pupils at Lockers Park Preparatory School in Hemel Hempstead have dazzled audiences with this year’s Christmas performance of ‘An Inspector Calls’.
Based on the comical Andrew Oxspring play where a school is thrown into panic when it receives a surprise visit from the school inspector, Lockers Park pupils embraced the satire and hilarity of the script.
Confident acting and singing, including some excellent solos, created a spectacular performance that held the audience spellbound throughout. With scenery hand-painted by Lockers Park parents and staff and eye-catching costumes, the production, involving all 51 children from Years 3 to 5, looked distinctly professional at times.
Headmaster Christopher Wilson commented: “Our Junior pupils really enjoyed getting to grips with this light-hearted play under the expert direction of Mrs Edmunds, Lockers Park’s Head of Drama. Their efforts made for a fantastic and engaging experience. I extend my thanks to each and every member of staff and pupil who helped ensure the play was a resounding success.”
