Millfield Prep School pupils took part in the Captain Tom 100 challenge, raising £1,250 for YoungMinds.
Pupils from Millfield Pre-Prep School through to Year 8 took part in a variety of 100 themed challenges over the Bank Holiday weekend, encouraged by the late Sir Captain Tom Moore’s inspiring 100 laps of his garden in aid of the NHS, aged 99.
Years 7 and 8 ran 100 laps of the running track and 100 x 100m sprints in their tutor groups and continued their challenges into the weekend, including eating 100 items of food, writing 100 positive messages and completing 100 maths questions. The catering team even treated everyone to Captain Tom cookies!
The youngest members of the community kicked started the challenges with Millfield Pre-Prep pupils each jumping, clapping, high kicking and showing their jazz hands 100 times.
Donations from the event go towards YoungMinds who work closely with children who are struggling with their mental health.
