Palmers Green High School Head Girls Host Charity Shop Sale
Posted on 17th Feb 2025 in Fundraising, School NewsPalmers Green High School’s three head girls held a charity shop on Thursday 6th February, with all proceeds going to the North London Hospice. Head girl Lola has worked at one of their charity shops in Enfield for the last few years, only stepping away recently to concentrate on exams. She had the idea to raise further funds for the charity by inviting parents, pupils and staff to donate any unwanted items to the sale. As always, the PGHS community was very generous and brought in designer bags, coats, jackets, children’s clothes and uniform, and over £200 had been raised in the first hour. Community and Events Manager for North London Hospice, Rachel Bloom, was in attendance to help with the sale and experience the girls’ efforts. Ms Sarah Proudlove, Head of PGHS, who helped at the cashier’s desk, commented: “I’m incredibly proud of the girls for running this event. Acts of generosity like this not only help those in need but also bring people together, strengthening our shared sense of community and purpose.” The sale was extended to Friday 7th February after school too due to huge demand. In total the sale raised over £800 for the charity.
