Principal of King’s Ely appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire

Sue, who has been in post at King’s Ely since September 2004, is one of six new Deputy Lieutenants selected by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Julie Spence OBE QPM DL.
Deputy Lieutenants assist with any duties as may be required and tend to be people who either have served their local community, or have a history of public service in other fields. Their over-arching responsibility is to promote their county, including at local ceremonies and official events.
Mrs Spence said: ‘Sue’s considerable skills and experience will be extremely useful in supporting me in the execution of my duties.’
Speaking about her appointment, Sue said: ‘I feel very honoured to have been appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire. I am passionate about my adopted county and this appointment provides a route through which I can continue to contribute to the community and get to grips with the joys and complexities of the county.’
