Over one hundred and forty residents attended the party which is organised and hosted by Year 11 students at Burgess Hill Girls. The senior citizens were treated to an afternoon tea and took part in a game of bingo, a quiz and a raffle with prizes donated by students, parents, and teachers at Burgess Hill Girls. The students gave a variety of musical performances and poetry readings. Every guest also received a special gift of Christmas decorations made by students in Year 7 and 8 at the school.
The senior citizens had a lovely time.
Jan said: “This is my first year coming to the tea party and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! I am already looking forward to next year.”
Ann and Mavis were happy to be back: “The best year so far! You can see that all the girls really enjoy it and that is what makes the day really special. Particularly, the solos were beautiful.”
