St Swithun's Prep School appoints Sue Powell as Head of Early Years Foundation Stage

Sue, who has been an integral part of the school community for the past two years, will also be joining the Senior Management Team (SMT) from September.
Sue Powell brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. As the current Head of English and a dedicated class teacher at St Swithun's Prep School, she has consistently demonstrated her passion for education and commitment to the students' well-being and academic success.
With an impressive career spanning various independent schools and spanning the entire age range of children educated in the primary phase, Sue has gained extensive experience working with children aged 3-11. Her deep understanding of the unique needs and developmental stages of young learners has contributed to her success in fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, Sue will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's Early Years Foundation Stage provision and ensuring its alignment with best practice in pursuit of excellence in all aspects of children's development.
Outgoing Prep Headteacher, Jonathan Brough, stated: “I am delighted that Sue will be taking a well-deserved step up to manage our Early Years groups at St Swithun's. It has been a real joy and privilege to work alongside her in a number of different roles for over a decade. I have watched her flourish here during the past two years and I cannot wait to hear about her successes to come.”
