St Swithun’s student selected for England U15’s National Football Talent Camp
Posted on 6th Jun 2023 in School News, SportSt Swithun’s student Isabella Cowley has been selected for the England National Talent Camps for U15 players for the 2023/24 season.
As part of the ‘Future Lionesses Talent Programme,’ the England Talent Pathway team have been watching her over the last season and they have been impressed with her performances in games and at the regional camps. She will now head to Warwick University to train and play with England U15's.
Isabella started playing football at the age of three as a member of 'Tiny Tekkers.' She began playing for Essex County when she was in year 4 and her next stop was Lincolnshire and Bolton Academy. She now plays for Atalanta Sports.
St Swithun’s Headmistress Jane Gandee said of Isabella’s success: “Isabella's journey with football has been an inspiration to us all. Her talent and dedication have earned her this remarkable opportunity. May this achievement serve as a stepping stone towards even greater accomplishments in Isabella's bright future with the sport.”
Isabella says of her achievement: “I love playing football and it has been great to be part of ‘Future Lionesses programme‘ this season. I have been able to work with the FA coaches on developing all areas of my game. I’m so excited to go to the National U15s camp. I am so grateful for all the brilliant opportunities and experiences my club Atalanta Sports and St Swithun’s have provided me with.”
