Stroud School Year 1 children enjoyed a Florence Nightingale Day yesterday and learnt about her life and work; they made lanterns and investigated artefacts from her lifetime.
At the end the day, the classroom was turned into an old, dirty hospital and the young 'nurses' transformed the hospital into a clean hospital, whilst feeding the injured soldiers, reading to them by lamp light and writing letters using a quill and ink. This was such a fantastic day!
