Talbot Heath live streams birthday celebrations
Posted on 8th May 2019 in School NewsTalbot Heath celebrated its 133rd birthday last week, and the celebrations were live-streamed on Facebook for Old Girls and former staff to view across the globe.
For the first time in the school’s 133-year history, Talbot Heath’s birthday celebrations were live streamed on Facebook, allowing Old Girls and former staff to enjoy the school’s special day across the globe.
From the ritual birthday cake cutting in morning assembly, to the processional hymn and service in the Lily Pond Quad, the events were captured for all to relive and enjoy by the Media department.
The Upper Sixth remained for the formal birthday lunch with staff, where former pupil Mrs Majorie Gillham, who had flown in from Wisconsin, USA, gave a nostalgic and thoughtful speech to the leavers.
She attended Talbot Heath between 1948-1953 and loved her time at school because, ‘it was very forward thinking back then,’ adding, ‘it remains forward thinking today.’
Thanks go to the catering team for the delicious birthday meal and best wishes go to all of the Sixth Form as they begin study leave in two weeks’ time.
