The Froebelian School raises over £6000 for WaterAidUK
Posted on 1st Oct 2024 in School News, Charity and community work, FundraisingThe Froebelian School Horsforth, Leeds has smashed its fundraising targets for the year raising over £6000.
The leading Independent Preparatory School for children aged 2-11 years, raised £6134.25 for WaterAid UK, as its designated charity for the year, as well as supporting other causes including Children in Need, Comic Relief and The Royal British Legion.
Two groups of entrepreneurial Form IV (Year 6) children alone, raised an astonishing £1826 by creating and running mini enterprises within school.
Headteacher, Mrs Anna Coulson said: “I am unbelievably proud of how the whole Froebelian Family has come together and embraced the fundraising this year. It has been a tremendous effort from individuals, group efforts from pupils, staff, parents, friends and the FPTA. It is an astounding achievement to have raised such a huge amount.”
In addition, Froebelian also collected 100s of food items for MHA Communities (Horsforth Live at Home Scheme) and essential items for The Leeds Christmas Homeless Appeal.
Mrs Coulson added: “We believe that all children benefit from a close involvement with charity and value the importance of community both locally and across the world - all of which aligns beautifully with the ethos of the School. We also encourage organisational key skills through fundraising - complementing the growth of the children’s social awareness, an appreciation of the value of money, and the effort that goes into earning it.”
This year Froebelian will be working with YoungMinds – a charity leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. They’re here to make sure children and young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
The fundraising kicks off with an intrepid team of Form IV (Year 6) pupils who will be inspiring all of us by conquering The Yorkshire Three Peaks at the end of the month. You can learn more and show your support through their Just Giving Page.
