Win for Brentwood School orienteers
Posted on 20th Jun 2018 in School News, Sport, CompetitionBrentwood School’s Orienteering Club were in action again yesterday at Highwoods County Park in Colchester. It was the final event of the Schools’ League season and the team of 17 won the trophy as the top scoring school in both the whole-school and senior school league.
In addition, individual pupils won awards for their places in the league – Janie Horton won gold for year 7/8 girls, with Pranita Arun Prasadh winning bronze. Jake Horton, a Brentwood Preparatory School pupil, won silver for year 5/6 boys, and Sam Lee bronze in the year 9/10 category.
Mayukha Rodrigo came 4th on the 2.3km Yellow course with a time of 20:53, followed by Joshua Elsworth (22:33); Pranita Arun Prasadh (24:50); Sam Lee (25:11); Jenson Martell (26:27); Matthew Trevelyan (27:16); Janie Horton (36:45); Jemima Mamelok (40:59); and Adnam Yaqub finishing 20th with a time of 57:34.
On the 3.2km Orange course, Kate Bowie-Britton and Jessica Mills finished 5th and 6th with times of 45:39 and 47:39 respectively.
Emma Bowie-Britton came 5th with a time of 54:55 after completing the 3.5km Light Green course.
