King's House School is a co-ed independent day prep school and nursery for children aged 3 to 13 in Richmond. Founded in 1946, the school offers each child a broad and balanced education, with a nurturing ethos and outstanding pastoral care. From September 2024, girls will be joining Reception and Year 1 for the first time as the school transitions to co-education.

King's House provides a happy, supportive, and safe environment for its pupils where they can thrive and flourish. Pupils are cherished as individuals and provided with the skills and mental resilience to succeed in whatever path they choose in life. The school was rated 'Excellent' in all areas by ISI following their visit in June 2023.

At King's House Nursery children are taught and supported by a team of highly experienced staff, who strive to give every child the opportunity to flourish and grow. The co-ed nursery opened in January 2009 just around the corner from King's House School and benefits from light, spacious and inspiring facilities. Nestled in The Alberts, in the heart of the community, you will find an oasis of warmth, laughter and a wealth of resources to inspire little minds and create a love of learning. Children move up to school as happy, thoughtful children ready for their next journey, and all children in the nursery are offered a place in Reception.

The school aims to ensure that it keeps pace with global developments so that pupils are ready to take their place in an ever-changing world. When pupils leave the school, they are not only armed with outstanding academic results, but also with a sense of self-awareness, respectfulness, and independence. Many pupils in the Senior Department are active in the Eco-Schools Committee, and Year 8 Charity Monitors lead much of the student fundraising for both local and national charities. Academic success is a result of the happy, relaxed atmosphere at KHS, which allows pupils to simply be themselves. Pupils benefit from the school's 35-acre multi-use sports ground in Chiswick, located on the banks of the River Thames. Facilities there include two 3G pitches, an all-weather pitch used for netball and hockey, tennis courts, athletics facilities, cricket nets, and much more.

King's House is a mixed-ability inclusive school at the two main entry points, Nursery and Reception. Applications can be made anytime from birth onwards, with about half of the Reception intake coming from the Nursery. There are also small intakes at 7+, 8+ and 11+. Currently, most pupils will move onto their senior schools at 13+, although all pupils are prepared for the 11+ and some will go on to local co-ed schools at the end of Year 6. The final two years allows pupils to take on leadership roles within a small year group, giving them the space to develop academically and emotionally. Pupils move on to a wide range of day, boarding, co-ed and single sex senior schools, with many achieving scholarships.
