Lancing College is a co-educational boarding and day school for 13 to 18 year olds, set in West Sussex on the South Coast of England. Pupils attend the school from across the South East, from London, and with excellent transport links to international airports, Lancing College is also very popular with international families. There is a cosmopolitan community: with children from over 40 nationalities attending.

There is a longstanding reputation for traditional values and pastoral care at the College was highlighted as a 'Significant Strength' in the Independent Schools Inspectorate's (ISI) 2023 report. Children benefit from a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community where everyone has their place and has a voice.

Lancing College has a long tradition of welcoming boarders and has adapted over the years to meet the changing lives and needs of parents and pupils. Boarding is available from the age of 13 years (Third Form or Year 9) and every year the school welcomes approximately 100 new boarding pupils to their seven Boarding Houses. From the moment that pupils join Lancing they become part of a community and benefit from the all-inclusive care and support of a boarding school ethos. Boarding Houses are single-sex and span the five year groups in the College. We find that this is an important element of the boarding house family. Pupils can spend time with their own age group while benefiting from having older 'siblings' to guide them and, as they grow older, take on a role in guiding younger pupils.

Children talk fondly about the joy of belonging to a community, forging friendships, learning to be independent and having access to a diverse array of opportunities. Co-curricular activities offer a wonderful chance for learning and personal development outside the academic syllabus. Pupils are encouraged and supported to try new activities (over 120 to choose from) as well as develop their skills.

The College provides an education which inspires a desire for excellence, and which enables them to develop independent, searching minds and to realise their full potential. Staff at Lancing provide the very best environment and inspiration for pupils to flourish. Lancing pupils are young people with their own talents and ambitions and the College nurtures and develops these skills, inspiring them to excel as individuals. Pupils are taught to be curious and to think deeply, for themselves. On leaving Lancing, pupils are not only happy and confident, but they also have a real sense of their place as global citizens.

Lancing College's open events and private visits welcome prospective pupils and parents to explore the stunning campus, meet the staff and students, and get a taste of what makes Lancing College truly incredible.
