Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Malvern Hills, Malvern St James School is a leading day and boarding school for children aged 3 to 18. With a rich heritage and a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, personal development and a strong family-feel, the school is proud to look ahead to an exciting new chapter. From September 2025, Malvern St James will become fully co-educational, welcoming boys for the first time in its history. This important milestone reflects the school's commitment to progress, inclusivity and offering an exceptional education to all.
Malvern St James continues to deliver outstanding academic results year after year. In 2024, students achieved exceptional success at both GCSE and A Level. An impressive 74% of A Level grades were awarded A*–B. At GCSE, 65% of grades were 9–8 (equivalent to A*), and 85% were 9–7 (A*–A). These achievements are the result of dedicated teaching, individualised support, and a culture that encourages ambition and intellectual curiosity.
The school places equal emphasis on personal development and the wider school experience. Believing in the importance of nurturing the whole child, Malvern St James offers over 100 co-curricular activities, giving every student the chance to explore their interests, develop new skills and build confidence. From sport, music, and drama to STEM clubs, public speaking and outdoor pursuits, there is something for everyone. Students are encouraged to discover their passions and make the most of the opportunities available.
At the core of Malvern St James are the values of Honesty, Courtesy, Kindness, Respect, Tolerance, and Consideration. These principles guide the school community and are not limited by gender – they are universal values that underpin all aspects of school life. As Malvern St James prepares to welcome boys into its community, these values remain central to its ethos, ensuring a nurturing, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
Malvern St James is more than just a school – it is a place where ambition is encouraged, individuality is celebrated and character is shaped for life. Students leave not only with excellent academic outcomes but also with the confidence, compassion, and integrity to make a meaningful difference in the world.
As the school embraces co-education from 2025, it remains firmly committed to providing a forward-thinking, all-round education in a setting that inspires, supports, and challenges. Malvern St James is a place where every child can thrive – and the future has never looked brighter.
