Home of ambitious minds.
Norfolk House School and Nursery is a leading London preparatory school for boys and girls aged 2-11, located in the leafy suburb of Muswell Hill.
Children begin their journey in our Nursery, housed at the Lower School site on Princes Avenue (N10), also home to our Reception and Form 1 year groups. As they progress to Form 2, they transition to our Upper School on Muswell Avenue, where they continue their educational journey through to Form 6.
Our mission is to empower pupils to confidently pursue their ambitions by forging character within a culture of excellence.
While we are a non-selective school, we take pride in the excellent academic achievements of our pupils. With a maximum class size of 16, we create an environment that offers a tailored learning experience, adapting to each pupil's unique needs. Our curriculum promotes and is underpinned by both knowledge and skills, whilst learning is optimised through challenge, ownership, dialogue, and engagement. We champion the growth and development of the pupils in front of us rather than focussing on delivery of a standardised curriculum.
Our most recent school inspection highlighted the "exceptionally positive attitudes to learning evident across the school," praising the "excellent quality of pupils' academic and other achievements" and noting that our students are "exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education."
Specialising in preparing children for senior school, we nurture confidence and excellent learning habits from an early age, gradually building these skills in preparation for the external examination entrance process. Our well-regarded 11+ programme begins in Form 4, offering a gradual but rigorous preparation without undue pressure, and helping our pupils secure places at their preferred senior schools. London's leading senior schools consistently recognise the ambition, academic excellence, and character that Norfolk House pupils demonstrate.
At Norfolk House, every child is known, valued, and celebrated for their individuality. We build strong relationships with parents, who trust us to guide their child's unique path to excellence.
Our pupils are also ambitious in cultural and artistic pursuits, sports, philanthropy, and personal growth. They develop their interests and character through diverse experiences, including ice-skating, choir, weekly cross-country runs, Forest School in Highgate Woods, Eco Warriors, musical showcases, and overseas trips. Children are confident, resilient, curious and entrepreneurial in their learning and attitudes.
