Queen Anne's is an inspirational day and boarding school for girls aged 11-18 set in 35 acres in the heart of Berkshire, with easy access to London. Queen Anne's has been experts in education for 130 years and continues to uphold its traditions while embracing the best that technology and innovative education has to offer to produce future-ready young people.
The school provides an outstanding environment for girls to learn, supported by award-winning pastoral care. In fact, Queen Anne's has won three awards so far in 2024, detailed below whilst also being a finalist in the Independent Schools of the Year awards for Student Careers.
There are four boarding houses which are based on the School site, ensuring that they are integrated into school life with boarding and day students making lifelong friends. Girls can board at Queen Anne's on a full, weekly or flexi basis, with occasional boarding available to support busy families. Each Boarding House provides a haven where girls sleep in comfortable bedrooms, relax in their 'sit' (sitting room), socialise and share meals and activities together.
The Head of School, Ms Elaine Purves is proud to say that there is no such thing as a 'Queen Anne's girl!' "Here at Queen Anne's School you will find a strong community of real girls. Girls who are individuals. Girls who are curious, thoughtful and eager to learn and grow, while also being energetic, passionate and exuberant about life. Alongside outstanding academic grades, our girls care deeply about the world around them and ahead of them. We encourage them to explore all the possibilities: in the classroom, on the playing field, on the stage, behind the easel or anywhere else that their talents might take them."
Queen Anne's harnesses and develops the unique potential of young women. Whether starting in Year 7, 9, or 12, as day or boarders, students are inspired in the classroom and develop their expertise and passions. The extensive choice of co-curricular activities are integrated into the school day, alongside time for homework ensuring a well-balanced week for students. These include high levels of sports, performing arts, music, and various clubs and societies such as the Medicine Society, musical ensembles, Chinese painting, trampolining, fitness, beekeeping, and STEM club to name a few. Head Girl of 2023-2024, Lara, who has been training with England Lacrosse since the age of 17, says "I have always been keen to make the most of the opportunities presented to me by the school. My co-curricular pursuits have been a key factor in helping me maintain balance while making positive contributions to school life".
