Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School (RPPS) is a lively, co-educational, independent school for children aged 4 to 11 in West London. Owned by the Gardener Schools Group, a family founded company set up in 1991, RPPS was the first of four schools to open, followed by Kew Green Preparatory School, Kew House Senior School and Maida Vale School.
There is a palpable sense of community at RPPS, and visitors often comment on the warm and happy atmosphere, and the family feel that they notice around the school.
Our school is situated next to Ravenscourt Park, a twenty-acre park which provides the setting for the majority of PE and Games lessons. RPPS has specialist on-site facilities such as a multi-purpose Auditorium, Library, Music Suite, Art Studio and Science Laboratory. Additional facilities include a designated gymnasium, ICT suite and large outdoor playground space.
RPPS provides an education of the highest quality with an engaging curriculum that is varied, exciting and forward-looking, whilst also preparing pupils for transfer at the end of Year 6 to London Day Schools and 11+ boarding schools. Additionally, RPPS offers pupils the opportunity to attend either one of its sister senior schools, Kew House or Maida Vale, via an automatic through route thus enabling them to remain with us until they are 18.
Our pupils engage in the excitement of learning and develop the confidence to question, analyse and express their opinions. We encourage children to develop a Growth Mindset so that they become resourceful, resilient, reflective and enthusiastic learners who are able to learn from their mistakes and build on their successes.
We form strong and trusting partnerships with our parents and we operate an 'Open Door' policy, where parents' comments, views, contributions and suggestions are valued.
The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) visited RPPS in 2021 and we were delighted to have received the judgement of 'excellent' in both of the report's key outcomes.
