At Sir William Perkins's School, the ethos of championing the individual is not just a motto but a way of life. A leading independent school for girls aged 11-18, Sir William Perkins's School goes beyond the traditional confines of education to nurture curiosity, ambition, and generosity in every student.

Academic success is naturally a priority, but Sir William Perkins's School believes that education should be about far more than just top grades. The school believes in educating the whole person and equipping its students to have the confidence to make their mark on the world.

Curiosity, ambition, and generosity form the cornerstone of the school's values, shaping not only the academic curriculum but also the overall ethos of the institution. Encouraging a spirit of enquiry and exploration, Sir William Perkins's School instils a lifelong love of learning in students. Ambition is celebrated and nurtured, with students encouraged to set lofty goals and strive for excellence in all endeavours.

One of the hallmarks of the school's approach is its emphasis on providing support for students who have talents and commitments beyond the classroom. Whether it be in the arts, sports, or other areas, Sir William Perkins's School understands that a well-rounded, holistic education encompasses more than just academic achievement. Through personalised learning plans and individualised support, students are empowered to pursue their passions while excelling academically.

A recent review by Talk Education cites the school as having "Stellar academics…combined with a fantastic co-curricular programme (it has a particularly fine reputation in rowing)" and applauds the school for "ensuring pupils' individuality continues to be championed - there are no identikit students here, just high achievers in charge of their own future."

By putting the needs of each student front and centre, the school not only prepares them for academic success but also drives the values and skills needed to make a meaningful impact on the world.

As the school gears up to celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2025, there are exciting changes afoot. From September 2026, Sir William Perkins's will start welcoming boys in Years 7 and 12, in a phased approach to becoming fully co-educational by 2030.

Open events will be held in September and October for entry to the school in 2025 and 2026.
