Spring Grove is a happy family school for boys and girls aged 2–11 set in 14 acres of beautiful Kent countryside. The school is located in Wye, between Ashford and Canterbury, and close to the high-speed train link into London. As a completely independent Prep school we offer support for the 11+ (Kent Test), the ISEB and scholarship applications to a wide range of senior schools, both locally and further afield.

Spring Grove achieved a double 'excellent' in its most recent (2023) inspection – both for the quality of pupils' academic and other achievements and for the quality of pupils' personal development. The school also has consistently good 11+ outcomes – in 2024, 79% of those who took the Kent Test secured grammar school placements.

The teaching and learning at Spring Grove are research-led and innovative, with a growth mindset that encourages curiosity, resilience and a love of learning. Spring Grove pupils are happy and confident, and the school is renowned for its friendly atmosphere.

Spring Grove Nursery, which caters for children from the age of 2 to 4, is on the same site as the Prep school and, while it is a safe and separate space, the preschool children benefit from sharing staff and facilities with the older children in the school. The Nursery also has its own beautiful walled garden, where the children play all year round.

Outdoor learning is integral to the Spring Grove curriculum, and all children from Nursery upwards regularly visit Forest School. The school has an active pupil-led Eco Committee and is a Green Flag school.

The importance of the creative and performing arts is recognised by an Artsmark Gold award. The school has specialist music, dance and art teachers, and all pupils have regular opportunities to perform in concerts, assemblies and shows throughout the year.
